The Venue Technical team are responsible for looking after all technical requirements for each of our performance spaces. Answering to the Duty Manager as well as the Technical Manager and Production Manager, the Tech is the person who looks after the company and show for their technical rehearsal as well as their get-ins and outs of the spaces at show time. You should have some skills with sound and lighting equipment although you will not necessarily be required to operate the show. Some Operators however, will be required so this experience is an advantage. You are also responsible for the cleanliness of the performance space and work closely with Front of House in getting audiences in and out and keeping to the performance schedule. You will always sit in on the show, whether operating or not, to respond to any technical or audience situation that may develop during the performance. You should be friendly, good with people, be organised and able to communicate confidently. Part of being a venue tech is also to be part of the get-in and get-out crew in setting up the venues so a great team work ethic is essential.
