Accessibility at the Fringe

7th Aug 2018

Here at Underbelly, we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the weird and wonderful shows at the Fringe.

We’ve worked to make our venues as physically accessible as possible, although the very nature of them does mean some do not have step-free access. You can find more about steps, ramps, accessible toilets, and other access information here.

Many shows are also offering relaxed, captioned and signed performances. To help you find a show which best suits your needs, we’ve listed them all below with links to the show page.

Unfortunately, we don’t currently have hearing loops at any of our venues.

The Fringe Society is also providing sensory backpacks for the first time ever to help make the hectic city more accessible. These backpacks are free for adults and children on the autistic spectrum to borrow for the day, and include a fidget toy, earplugs, a map of Edinburgh and a list of relaxed performances at the Fringe. Find out more on the EdFringe website.
