Empty Beds: My Edinburgh
8th Jul 2016
We had a quick chat to the crew behind Empty Beds, a theatre debut from Pennyworth Productions exploring the human impact of cuts to mental health services, about what they're expecting from this year's Fringe. See Empty Beds in Underbelly's Cowgate, 4 - 28 August (not 15).
Have you performed at the Fringe before?
This is our company's debut production.
Where’s your favourite spot in Edinburgh?
Olly Bongo's (for the coffee).
What will you be packing in your suitcase for the Fringe?
At the moment, rain ponchos and wellies.
Do you know who Greyfriars Bobby is?
We do now. If anyone's wondering why our press release is late it's because we just spent 2 hours chasing him down a Wikipedia rabbit hole.
What’s the best show you’ve ever seen at the Fringe?
Too many to pick! Discover Love by Belarus Free Theatre. Dark Vanilla Jungle by Philip Ridley. Portraits in Motion by Volker Gerling.
What’s the best piece of advice you’d give (or have been given) about the Fringe?
Don't worry too much about what people tell you to see (and see Mouse by Daniel Kitson)
To ceilidh or not to ceilidh?
Obviously full ceilidh.
What can audiences expect from your show?
All the feels from an exciting new playwright.
