Joe DeRosa: My Edinburgh

26th Jul 2016

We chatted to Joe DeRosa about his Fringe debut, what to expect from his show, Zero Forward Progress, and the worst piece of advice ever about the Fringe. See him in Underbelly Cowgate's Belly Laugh 4 - 28 August (not 10, 15 or 22).

Have you performed at the Fringe before?

I have not. I'm incredibly excited to be doing it for the first time.

Where’s your favourite spot in Edinburgh?

I just told you. I've never been before. Please try to pay attention.

What will you be packing in your suitcase for the Fringe?

The usual necessities for a trip to Scotland: many hard liquors that aren't scotch.

Do you know who Greyfriars Bobby is?

I don't. But I once saw a man beat another man for calling him that.

What’s the best show you’ve ever seen at the Fringe?

For Christ's sake, I've never been to the Fringe. You're really making me feel like crap at this point.

What’s the best piece of advice you’d give (or have been given) about the Fringe?

Somebody actually advised me not to drink the entire time I'm there. I wouldn't really call that "the best piece of advice." Unless "piece" is short for "piece of shit."

To ceilidh or not to ceilidh?

Both.

What can audiences expect from your show?

Well, the show is lot of me complaining. Then there's the bitching. I'll definitely be doing some moaning as well. Also pissing. And ranting. And raving. So, it's a pretty diverse experience.
