Michael Burgos: My Edinburgh
18th Jul 2016
Here's Michael Burgos, Fringe first-timer, on what he's most excited about for this year's Festival!
Have you performed at the Fringe before?
The Eulogy is my first show, so I'm just getting into the Fringe world. This will be my first time at the Edinburgh Fringe — which I still can't believe is happening — and with Underbelly! How lucky am I?
Where’s your favourite spot in Edinburgh?
I don't have one yet, but I can't wait to discover some when I arrive. For now, I'll just say Underbelly Cowgate.
What will you be packing in your suitcase for the Fringe?
As little as possible.
Do you know who Greyfriars Bobby is?
I can't say I've ever heard that name before.
What’s the best show you’ve ever seen at the Fringe?
Oh wow; that's such an impossible question to answer. I've never been to the Edinburgh Fringe, but from the Fringe festivals I have been to... Well, the first thing that comes to mind is Juan Vesuvius' Calypso Nights: Juan, Two?
What’s the best piece of advice you’d give (or have been given) about the Fringe?
Take care of yourself, especially when you're in it for the long-haul.
To ceilidh or not to ceilidh?
I have no idea what ceilidh is. (I'm clearly an international artist!)
What can audiences expect from your show?
The worst (or, possibly, best) funeral speech ever given.
