Ruby and the Vinyl: My Edinburgh

13th Jul 2016

We chatted to the cast of Ruby and the Vinyl all about their musical show, set in a vintage shop and what they're expecting from this year's Fringe! You can see Ruby and the Vinyl in Underbelly's White Belly in Cowgate from 4 - 28 August (not 15).

Have you performed at the Fringe before?

Visited so many times before, but never performed so this is all very new and exciting!

Where’s your favourite spot in Edinburgh?

Princes Street Gardens – it’s a great place to just relax, and, (hopefully), lie in the sun! It also helps that there’s a Hendersons there – the absolutely best place to eat!

What will you be packing in your suitcase for the Fringe?

Clothes, clothes, and more clothes. Our show is set in a vintage shop so we feel like we need to stay stylish! Obviously we’ll also be packing our guitars – our show is an acoustic musical so we couldn’t perform without them!

Do you know who Greyfriars Bobby is?

Yes of course!

What’s the best show you’ve ever seen at the Fringe?

The Circa show two years ago – it was just amazing.

What’s the best piece of advice you’d give (or have been given) about the Fringe?

Don’t book back-to-back shows! You might think you can make it but you never can!

To ceilidh or not to ceilidh?

We’re all musicians, so I think it should be to always ceilidh.

What can audiences expect from your show?

Great songs, laughs, meta and happiness! It’s definitely a feel-good piece.
