Swipe Right Theatre Company: My Edinburgh
6th Jul 2016
Us: Have you performed at the Fringe before?
Kerrie: This will be my fourth year performing at the Fringe, but growing up in Edinburgh I've visited the Fringe every year since I was wee!
Natasha: This will be my third year performing and my first year not also doing a very early children's show! So I'm looking forward to some later nights and lie ins!
Eliza: 2015 was my first ever year at the Fringe!
Bethany: Yes me too! Last year performing 2 Become 1!
Us: Where’s your favourite spot in Edinburgh?
Natasha: If the sun ever shines I love the meadows, it's so nice to have some chill out time there! Also Hula for our daily 'we-should-actually-be-flyering' milkshake!
Kerrie: I'm in shock that Natasha didn't say Frisky. She dragged us there every afternoon to get frozen yoghurt!
Natasha: Still haven't completed my loyalty card!
Bethany: Mums!!!!
Eliza: I know I really should say something like Arthur's seat or the castle, but it's definitely Hive (Haha!!) and I also love Mums, best sausage and mash ever!
Us: What will you be packing in your suitcase for the Fringe?
Bethany: Lots of scrunchies and chokers!
Eliza: And crop tops!
Kerrie: And butterfly clips!
Natasha: And our platforms of course! …Also we mustn't forget the vocal zones, green tea and a rain coat.
Us: Do you know who Greyfriars Bobby is?
Kerrie: I want to see if the girls know this…
Bethany: Erm...a dog right?
Eliza: That really cute dog!
Natasha: He's that little dog who used to to guard his owners grave in the olden days!
Us: What’s the best show you’ve ever seen at the Fringe?
Kerrie: Last year I saw Pajama Men's 2 Men 3 Muskateers and Trygve Wakenshaw's Nautilus on the same day, and it was the best day.
Bethany: We saw Beasts Live DVD last year.
Eliza: Yeah, I really loved that, laugh out loud funny!
Natasha: I loved Geckos Institute, it was pretty mind blowing. Definitely Trygve Wakenshaw's Nautilus as well, he is an amazingly clever and funny performer.
Us: What’s the best piece of advice you’d give (or have been given) about the Fringe?
Natasha: Go open-minded, talk to different types of people and go and see shows that you normally wouldn't- they are usually the best times!
Bethany: See everything you can, sleep when you can and just enjoy it! Also, go to mums.
Kerrie: Everything during the fringe is alcohol and bread. The Edinburgh bloat will get you. Just flaunt it.
Eliza: Be prepared not to sleep, and any diet plans will go out the window. Also, just see as many shows as possible, AND GO TO A CEILIDH!
Us: To ceilidh or not to ceilidh?
Eliza: Judging on my last answer, obviously to ceilidh.
Kerrie: Never stop ceilidh-ing.
Bethany: Always to ceilidh!
Natasha: …but wear deodorant!
Us: What can audiences expect from your show?
All: Gyrating, platform trainers, laughs and… a-zig-a-zig-aah!!
