What happens when you're booked (but not blessed)
Winner, Best LGBTQIA+ Edinburgh Fringe Award (List). An unexpected call from a library derails a performance planned by newly arrived drag artist Goody Prostate, booked to headline the local reading hour. But as they race against the clock to scramble together a new act in real time, they spiral into a chaotic interrogation of childhood, memory and a long overdue examination of what it means to grow up. The library is open – sit down, be quiet and listen. Because sometimes, reading is what? Fundamentalist.
ENHANCED PERFORMANCE INFORMATION
A relaxed performance and an SL interpreted performance of Kinder are available.
Relaxed Performance — For this performance, some of the more intense lighting sequences will be reduced in severity, and the volume of accompanying sound will be lowered.
Audience perks include: permission to move around and make noise, and a show guide/synopsis/character list. Content notes: the show contains a total blackout, flashing/strobed lighting, characters expressing anger, and heavily dialogue-driven scenes. The performer enters the audience area. There is no audience participation.
Before the show, audiences will have access to a character description video from the performer and a PDF visual story detailing narrative and technical elements of the performance.
