About Underbelly at the Edinburgh Fringe

The Edinburgh Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world, and Underbelly is one of its largest venues. With over 200 shows, 2019 saw 417,500 tickets sold across its 22 venues and 5 sites – George Square, Circus Hub, Cowgate, Bristo Square, and Central Hall. We produced or co-produced 23 shows in 2019, investing over £500,000 to support artists to develop existing and new work.

About Underbelly Ltd

Underbelly is a UK based live entertainment company. Their events and festivals division operates one of the largest operations at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, selling 417,500 tickets for over 200 shows over 25 days in 2019.

This year marks the tenth year of Underbelly on the Southbank, with Udderbelly and London Wonderground festivals – already two of the biggest multi-arts offerings in London - joining forces for Underbelly Festival Southbank.

Elsewhere, Underbelly also produces Edinburgh’s Christmas, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, Christmas in Leicester Square, Udderbelly Festival in Hong Kong, West End Live in Trafalgar Square and Pride in London for Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre.
