1. Do I have to pay to get into Underbelly venues?
All Underbelly shows are ticketed. Certain productions get fully booked during peak times, so we recommend that you book in advance on the website where possible. It's free to enter the Underbelly sites, however, so you can sit and enjoy a drink at any of our venues.
2. Is there a cloakroom?
Unfortunately we do not currently provide a cloakroom service.
3. What time are the sites open from?
Our sites open at 10:00am.
4. How do I get to Underbelly?
Our Underbelly venues are located at four main sites, a 10-minute walk from each other: Cowgate, Bristo Square, George Square and Circus Hub on The Meadows. Please be sure to check which venue your show is on at, and look up the locations here.

6. How can I perform at the festival?
We welcome applications to perform with us at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. If you would like to perform your show at an Underbelly venue, you can find out more and fill out an application here.
7. What time does the box office open?
Cowgate: 10:00 - Late
George Square: 10:00 - Late
Circus Hub: 11:00 - Late
Bristo Square: 10:00 - Late
8. How do I purchase a ticket?
We recommend that you buy tickets in advance from the Underbelly Edinburgh website, subject to availability and booking fees. For times and prices go to our What's On page. You can also call our booking line on 0131 510 0395.
9. Can I buy a ticket on the day at the box office?
Yes, you can buy a ticket on the day. However, we would strongly recommend that you buy your tickets online, in order to avoid long queues. There are box offices at Cowgate, Bristo Square, George Square and Circus Hub, from which you can buy tickets for any Underbelly event. Please arrive in plenty of time if choosing this option. You can also buy tickets from these box offices for shows at Assembly, Gilded Balloon and Pleasance.
10. Can I exchange my tickets?
Tickets are non-exchangeable, non-transferrable and non-refundable.
11. How do I collect my tickets?
Tickets will be posted in chronological order by purchase date. To avoid tickets being lost in transit, all orders placed after mid-July will be available for collection at the box office. Please be aware there may be queues at the Box Office, so arrive early to collect your tickets.
12. Do Email Confirmations count as a ticket?
No. Our venues will only accept a physical ticket that can be collected from the Box Office. Please allow for queuing time at collection points.
13. What should I do if I haven't received my tickets?
If you have booked tickets for an Underbelly event through the official Underbelly Edinburgh website but have not received or cannot print your ticket confirmation, please see a member of the Box Office team upon arrival where they can assist you further. Please allow extra time for assistance at the Box Office as queues are likely. If you bought your tickets from another outlet, please contact them directly.
14. What if there is a problem with my ticket?
If you purchased your ticket from the Underbelly Edinburgh website please contact email@example.com. If you bought your ticket from another venue or through the Fringe box office, please contact them directly. Remember, you must bring your ticket with you in order to gain admission to your show. Please note: all tickets are non-exchangeable, non-transferrable and non-refundable.
15. What do you class as a concession?
We offer concessionary tickets for students, OAPs, under 16s, registered disabled, and registered unemployed.
16. Are there discounts for groups and school bookings?
Yes. A 10% group discount is available on bookings of 10 or more tickets. You can make your group booking on-line or over the phone by calling our box office on 0131 510 0395. Please note: all tickets are non-exchangeable, non-transferrable and non-refundable. We do strongly advise all groups carry out their own Risk Assessment prior to their visit.
17. What age do you class as a child?
Under 16. Please note that for most shows children under 2 don't require a ticket provided they can remain in your lap for the entire performance.
18. Do you have a Babes in Arms Policy?
For the majority of our shows, children under 2 are free as long as they do not take up a seat. If you require more information, please contact the box office on 0131 510 0395, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
19. Can I bring a babe in arms to an 18+ show?
This is show dependant. Some shows have a strict age policy and will not allow babes in arms. Please check with the Box Office prior to buying your ticket.
20. Are there age restrictions for accessing the festival sites?
Whilst the site is suitable for children of all ages, we would suggest that children are accompanied at all times by a person of 18 years or over. After 9:00pm, no person under the age of 18 will be allowed in unless accompanied by a person of 18 years or over.
21. What facilities do you have for babies?
We have baby change facility within our accessible toilets.
Buggies may be left at your own risk outside all our venues except Cowgate where we are unable to accommodate buggies.
22. How can I make an access booking?
Access bookings should be made via the Underbelly booking line 0131 510 0395, Fringe Access, or in person at an Underbelly Box Office.
If you are coming to see a show at an Underbelly venue, you may be eligible for a complimentary seat for your personal assistant or carer. Please contact email@example.com to learn more, or fill out this form to register yourself on our access list. 23. Is there disabled parking?
Full details and locations of street Blue Badge parking bays can be found on the City of Edinburgh Council website or you can call them on 0131 469 3891.
24. What about toilet facilities?
Each site has toilet facilities including accessible toilets.
25. Do you have parking facilities?
We recommend that visitors avoid coming by car where possible. However, for those who do travel by car, on-street pay-to-park spaces are available in the streets surrounding our sites between 8.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Outside of these hours, parking is free. There is also an NCP car park within the Quartermile development (EH3 9AU), a short walk from either of our sites.
26. Is photography and filming allowed at Underbelly?
Photography and filming on site is only allowed for personal use. If you have any commercial or editorial photography or filming requests, please contact our press office to request accreditation in advance of arriving at: email@example.com. All amateur photographer groups must also request photography accreditation in advance of arriving on site. Photography during shows is generally prohibited and can be a safety concern for performers. We thank you for your co-operation.
27. What is your sustainability policy?
Visitors are strongly encouraged to travel to Underbelly on foot, by bike or by using public transport. Underbelly will provide suitable facilities for visitors, performers, traders and operators to recycle their waste and all site waste will be sorted off site to divide out recyclable and non-recyclable materials. Power, lighting and water usage is minimised wherever possible. Traders and operators will be encouraged to procure products from sustainable sources where possible and the vast majority of the Underbelly infrastructure is permanent or is re-used year after year. Underbelly uses local staff and crew where possible and encourages performers, traders and operators to do the same.

29. Are dogs allowed in the venues?
Only service dogs are allowed to enter our venues.
30. Is the 2 for 1 ticket offer valid on all types of tickets?
The 2 for 1 ticket deal only applies to Full Price tickets.
