Press Office and Office Manager
You’ll be working as part of our small but busy Press and Marketing Team and be reporting to our Head of Press. Previous experience is not essential, although an understanding and career interest in press and marketing and the arts is. As well as this you must be a good communicator, extremely friendly and be able to stay calm in sometimes busy and difficult situations. You will be required to do a mixture of duties from dealing with press requests, writing press releases, liaising with companies and camera crews to cutting out and filing clippings and being responsible for the show posters and reviews distribution around our venues. Excellent computer and writing skills essential.
We are also looking for an Office Manager for our press office. Reporting to the Head of Press, you'll assist with the day to day admin of running a busy press office, taking general enquiries on the phone or via email and helping the press officers with tasks when things get busy. You'll be meticulous about filing, manage office petty cash in conjuction with the Administrator and generally ensure office supplies are kept well stocked.
Dates of work: Most jobs will be 30th July to 30th August inclusive, some postions may start/finish earlier.
Pay is minimum wage (£7.50 for 25yrs+, £7.05 per hour for 21 yr - 24 yr olds and £5.60 per hour for 18 – 20 yr olds) and shifts vary from day to day. You will be expected to be able to work everyday throughout the Fringe, and will be given a minimum of two days off. You will be required to attend 4 hours of orientation and training which is unpaid.
You will get free entrance to all our shows and discounts in our bars.
You will need to be over 18 and find your own accommodation within Edinburgh as we do not provide any staff accommodation.
