Street Team and Supervisors
You’ll be working as part of our Street Team to distribute flyers and sell shows to the public for a select number of shows at Underbelly. You will be reporting directly to our Street Team Manager. Previous experience is not essential, although an interest and passion for theatre, comedy, circus and all forms of the arts are, as well as a top-notch personality. You must be a good communicator, extremely friendly and confident and be comfortable chatting with anyone. You will be out on the streets of Edinburgh 7 hours a day, rain, hail or shine, day or night promoting some of the best shows on the Fringe. You will meet lots of great people as well as having some bizarre Fringe experiences and it's a great way to experience the Festival.
Dates of work: Most jobs will be 30th July to 30th August inclusive, some postions may start/finish earlier.
Pay is minimum wage (£7.50 for 25yrs+, £7.05 per hour for 21 yr - 24 yr olds and £5.60 per hour for 18 – 20 yr olds) and shifts vary from day to day. You will be expected to be able to work everyday throughout the Fringe, and will be given a minimum of two days off. You will be required to attend 4 hours of orientation and training which is unpaid.
You will get free entrance to all our shows and discounts in our bars.
You will need to be over 18 and find your own accommodation within Edinburgh as we do not provide any staff accommodation.
Street Team Supervisor
We are also seeking street team supervisors to oversee our staff. You will be responsible for co-ordinating all staff, their breaks and rotas, and ensure the street team are carrying out their duties. You will be required to keep track of sales figures and proactively help meet sales targets. You will also be expected to be part of the street team and assist in flyering in all weathers – see the street team job description for further details.
Most interviews will take place in June.
